Sunday 6th October 2024
As a part of the Centenary celebrations, the Guild will be awarding special certificates to members who achieve a personal challenge. We already try to acknowledge achievements such as ringing your first peal/quarter peal or reaching a significant milestone (e.g. 50th peal for the Guild) in Richy’s Blog or in the Annual Report but, for the Centenary year, you will also receive a certificate.
We will be awarding these certificates at Guild/District events throughout the year and it would be great if we could award 100 during the year, so please let us know if you have any plans for Challenges/Achievements, especially those which would not appear on BellBoard as a footnote.

You may have already seen, and used, the new event links created by Neal on BellBoard but here’s some guidance re how we would like them to be used please (to avoid confusion):-
Suffolk Guild — Commemorative Centenary performances
Please use this to link performances (peals, QPs etc) which have been rung during 2023 to commemorate the Centenary year.
Suffolk Guild — Centenary Achievements
Please use this to link performances (peals, QPs etc) which you would like to record as a part of the Centenary 100 Achievement/Challenges project. This might include a first (QP/Peal) or a milestone or something else of significance to you personally so we can award you with a Centenary certificate of achievement. We will be awarding special certificates for these at Guild/District events throughout the year.
Some performances will of course meet both criteria so do please try to remember to link them accordingly.
Rowan has set herself the challenge of cycling to 100 Suffolk Guild towers over the first 100 days of 2023 to raise money for the Guild. She won’t unfortunately have time to ring at the towers but will take a photo and update you via the website and Facebook page.
If you would like to sponsor her, you can either:-
She is hoping to visit 25 towers from each District but hopes that you’ll forgive her for using trains (if they’re not on strike) to access the furthest flung towers!
